Declaration of Emergency for the Village of Itasca

Itasca home page

March 19, I signed an official Declaration of Emergency for the Village of Itasca to aid in our response to the Coronavirus. Let me be clear, the Village remains open and operational. Village services remain operational, though some in a limited capacity

Protecting your safety and the safety of our Village residents is our first priority.

This is not a step I take lightly. It is my duty as your mayor to ensure that your local government is doing everything it can to respond to this crisis in a coordinated and responsible manner.

By taking this action, the Village will be eligible for Federal Disaster Funds to help in our recovery efforts. This step follows the Governor’s declaration of emergency on March 9th and DuPage County Chairman Dan Cronin’s deceleration on March 15th. Additionally, all late fees and fines will be suspended during the duration of this emergency.

Our Village staff continues to work closely with county and state leaders, health officials, and emergency management agencies. This coordination is to ensure that we are taking all of the appropriate steps to keep you safe and to provide the services you deserve from your local government.

Thank you,

Mayor Jeff Pruyn
