Recently, the Village learned that Haymarket Center was seeking to move forward with purchasing the Holiday Inn Itasca prior to receiving its zoning approvals. It is our understanding that the closing on the property may have occurred today, April 6, 2020.

Itasca is not a home rule village, and as such, has no involvement in the sale of property between individuals or business entities.

Haymarket Center did not communicate, and the Village does not know, their current intentions for the property. The Plan Commission is still in the hearing process for the petitions submitted by Haymarket Center for its proposed treatment facility.

Today, I sent a letter to Haymarket Center in an effort learn more about their plans. When the Village receives more information, we will keep you informed.
