[ARCHIVED] Roadway and Infrastructure Improvements Program Update - August 29 2022

Starting Monday, August 29th, daily lane closures will be implemented in three (3) stages as work progresses as outlined on the maps below. The daily detours are scheduled to occur between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:00 pm and will be removed at the end of each day. The temporary daily detours will allow for the continued relocation of utilities along with providing a safe work zone during construction.

Stage 1 (Aug. 29 – Sept. 2*) will consist of daily lane closure of Bloomingdale Rd. between Lombard Rd. and Oak St. During the Stage 1 local detour, westbound Bloomingdale Rd. traffic will be detoured south on Oak St. to Lombard Rd. to Bloomingdale Rd. The local detour will be in effect between the hours of 8:30 am to 3:00 pm and will last approximately one week.

Bloomingdale Stage 1

Stage 2 (Sept. 6 – Sept. 9*) will consist of daily lane closure of Bloomingdale Rd. between Oak St. and Maple Ave. During the Stage 2 local detour, westbound Bloomingdale Rd. traffic will be detoured south on Maple Ave. to Washington St. to Oak St. to Bloomingdale Rd. The local detour will be in effect between the hours of 8:30 am to 3:00 pm and will last approximately one week.

Bloomingdale Stage 2

Stage 3 (Sept. 12 – Sept. 16*) will consist of daily lane closure of Bloomingdale Rd. between Maple St. and Walnut St. During the Stage 3 local detour, westbound Bloomingdale Rd. traffic will be detoured south on Walnut St. to Washington St. to Maple St. to Bloomingdale Rd. The local detour will be in effect between the hours of 8:30 am to 3:00 pm and will last approximately one week.

Bloomingdale Stage 3

*** Please note the dates of the temporary daily detours are tentative and may be adjusted as needed due to unexpected construction or weather delays. The contractor and utility companies will do their best to minimize the length of these temporary daily detours.

Due to the use of the temporary detour routes the local streets may experience heavier than normal daily traffic, please be aware and note this is only a temporary situation to expedite the utility relocations; normal traffic volumes will return once westbound traffic is fully opened along Bloomingdale Road. We understand that this may be an inconvenience for you and ask for your full understanding and cooperation during construction.

If you have any questions, please contact our Public Works at (630) 773-2455 or the field engineer, Mr. Robert Borchering, PEI of Robinson Engineering, Ltd., at (708) 473-8068, or John Beissel, PE of Robinson Engineering, Ltd. at (847) 946-2163.
