W. Center Street/N.Oak Street
The Contractor will grade the parkways for future topsoil placement and grade the aggregate road base. Asphalt base and binder courses are expected to be placed to allow residents to access their driveways by 5 pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
E. North Street (N. Linden Street to N. Rush Street) and N. Linden Street (E. North Street to E. Division Street)
Access to driveways will be interrupted from 7 am, Monday, July24, 2023 through 5 pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. The Contractor will pour curbs on E. North Street (N. Linden Street to N. Rush Street) and N. Linden Street (E. North Street to E. Division Street). Sidewalks and median will be excavated framed and poured as well as concrete driveway aprons. Lighted bollards will be installed at Peacock School. The asphalt base and binder course will be placed to allow residents to access their driveways by 5 pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. The Contractor will grade the parkways for future placement of topsoil and sod.
N. Maple Street (W. Center Street to W. North Street)
The Contractor will continue excavating for the new roadway; and placing aggregate road base. This section of N. Maple Street will be closed to through and emergency vehicles from 7 am to 4 pm from Monday, July 24, 2023 through Friday, July 28, 2023.
W. North Street (N. Willow Street to N. Oak Street) and N. Oak Street (W. North Street to W. Division Street)
The Contractor will be installing storm sewer N. Oak Street (W. North Street to W. Division Street). The work is expected to be complete by Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
Work is expected to occur on weekdays between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Through traffic will be detoured around the work areas. We thank you for your patience.
During this work expect the following:
- All roads will be open to emergency vehicles, except as noted for W. Center Street.
- Utility work (ComEd, Nicor Gas, MCI, etc.) along the project area will be taking place throughout construction.
- Heavy Construction Equipment, material deliveries, material storage in parkways and construction noise will be present from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily and at times until dusk.
- The construction will create dust and debris. The Contractor will work to minimize the impacts.
- Access to driveways may be briefly interrupted - Workers will inform residents of driveway interruption prior to its occurrence.
- Temporary truck staging is expected on roadways and adjacent streets.
- Please Use CAUTION in around the construction site.
- The schedule is weather dependent.
- Use caution at the protruding manhole frames surrounded by cushioned protector rings.
