Candidates must be a U.S citizen at least 21 years of age and under the age of 35, and possess an Associates degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement from an accredited Illinois college or a Bachelor degree from an accredited national college or university.

Candidates who have been certificated officers for five years must be under the age of 40 and meet the same educational requirements.

Important: The application must be completed with a response to each question. If a question does not apply to you, write “Not Applicable” or “N/A” as your response. All application forms must be completed upon submission and the packet must include the following:

• a photocopy of your driver’s license
• a photocopy of your birth certificate for proof of age
• a photocopy of your college diploma for proof of education requirements

Your complete application packet must be delivered in person or received by mail at the Itasca Police Department, 540 West Irving Park Road, Itasca, Illinois 60143 by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011.

A mandatory orientation and written examination will be held on Saturday, September 24th , 2011, at 9:00 a.m.

Doors will be closed at 9:00 a.m. and no one will be admitted after the orientation begins.
