North Bound Walnut Street Closed Sept 26 for Repair

September 26, public works will begin repair on a water main failure located on the north bound lane of Walnut St. between Irving Park Rd. and the rail road tracks. In order to perform the work the north bound lane of Walnut will have to be closed.

Nationwide Test of the Emergency Alert System Rescheduled For October 3

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) on Oct 3. The WEA portion begins at 1:18pm and the EAS portion follows at 1:20pm local time.

The test was rescheduled from September 20 due to ongoing response efforts to Hurricane Florence. The test will assess the operational readiness of the infrastructure for distribution of a national message and determine whether technological improvements ...

ComEd Tree Trimming August and September in Itasca

ComEd will be in Itasca trimming trees, branches and vines that interfere or have the potential to interfere with power lines beginning in August and ending in Sept. In some cases tree removal may be required. All work is performed by trained arborists.
