    Help the Itasca Food Pantry while erasing your library fines. The food pantry is in need of non-perishable food items, cleaning products, paper goods, and personal hygiene products. For every item you donate, a dollar will be removed from your fines (up to $15.00).

    Historian Michael Stachnik presents stories of the illustrious history of Poland’s military. From medieval armored knights to the Polish airmen’s contributions during the Battle of Britain, to Poland’s fight for independence and freedom even when the country was removed from the European map, Poland has had a long, valiant military history.

  3. Mem Fox Storytime

    March 11, 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM @ Itasca Community Library

    Celebrate this author’s birthday with stories, songs, a craft, and more. Registration is required. Geared to ages 3-6, but younger children may attend with an adult. Registration is required.

  4. Homemade Pierogi Cooking Program

    March 11, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Itasca Community Library

    Andrew Comens will demonstrate how to make the dough and two fillings for delicious Polish pierogi. Samples and recipes will be available.

  5. Play to Learn with Dupage Children's Museum

    Thursday, March 12, 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., or 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., or 12:00 p.m. Each session lasts 45 minutes. The DuPage Children’s Museum is taking their exhibits on the road! We’ve teamed up with the museum to offer a unique program that focuses on play and learning. Together, children and caregivers will enjoy portable exhibits as well as hands-on projects that can be done right in the home. Registration is required.

    Hula hoops are not just for kids anymore! Check out hula hooping as a low-impact cardio workout. It strengthens core and spine muscles, and will put a smile on your face.

  10. Vision Loss: A Life Journey

    Leah Gerlach of Spectrios Institute for Low Vision will discuss living with low vision. Topics will include self-esteem, independence, and networking with others for support. March is National Save Your Vision Month.

  11. Drop-In Spring Cleaning Craft Day (All Ages)

    Help the Youth Services librarians clean out their closet by making a fun craft! Just stop by the Youth Department; no registration is required.

    Join the members of the Evening Book Discussion group as we welcome author P.C. Haring and discuss his book Cybrosis. A limited number of copies of the book will be available a month in advance.
