Itasca Police Department
Message from Chief Robert O’Connor
Welcome to the Itasca Police Department homepage. I have the honor of serving as the Village of Itasca Chief of Police since September 2014.
The Itasca Police Department is a highly trained and skilled professional police department comprised of twenty-three sworn and twelve non-sworn members. We are entrusted by the public and stakeholders we serve, and we strive each day to provide the finest law enforcement services to our community.
As part of our commitment to excellence, the Itasca Police Department is dedicated to the community oriented policing philosophy. As a result, we have built and continue to develop close ties to the community and actively respond to its needs. Community oriented policing strategies utilized by the Department includes neighborhood policing, in which four officers and two supervisors are assigned to three neighborhood sectors within the Village.
I ask that if you “see something, say something.” The Itasca Police Department is here to provide a safe and secure environment for our residents and business community. You are invited to contact the Itasca Police Department at any time regarding services and valuable programs available to all who live or work in Itasca. We appreciate the continued support from the community!
Lastly, I would like to thank the men and women of the Itasca Police Department. Their dedication and commitment makes the Village of Itasca a special place, and I am honored to be their Chief.
