O'Hare Noise Information

The Village of Itasca is becoming increasingly aware of the potential of significant noise and visual impacts due to the relocation of aircraft from runway 14-32 and the movement of this air traffic to runway 10-28. This web page was created to assist Itasca residents in finding the correct tools to make their voices heard.
If intertested joining The Itasca Citizen O'hare Commission please contact the Village by email or call Village Hall at 630-773-0835 . We meet bi monthly to discuss noise and air pollution issues that affect itasca and what we can do and how to proceed.
The City of Chicago's Department of Aviation is now providing an on-line service for citizens to express their concerns about particular aircraft noise events or aircraft noise levels in general.
To better gauge the level of disturbance, residents submitting an aircraft noise complaint will be asked a series of questions. The information that is gathered throughout the month is imported to the Airport Noise Management System (ANMS) and tabulated in a report either to Midway or O'Hare International Airports. The ANMS reports summarize the total number of complaints per month, where the callers were located, the number of calls by community as well as the number of individual callers.
The ANMS reports are then brought to the Midway and O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission meetings where the data is discussed. The ANMS reports are also posted to our web site.
