Appropriation Ordinance

The appropriation ordinance is one of the most important ordinances adopted by the Itasca Village Board each year. This ordinance provides the legal authority under which the Village allocates money to specific spending activities. Its basis comes from the Village's annual approved gudget. In addition, it establishes the Village’s legal spending limit for the fiscal year, and serves as the basis for the property tax levy.

The Village Board is required to hold at least one public hearing on the proposed appropriation and adopt a final appropriations ordinance no later than July 31st.
