Fire hydrant flushing is an important maintenance aspect of proper water distribution practices.  The flushing program not only freshens our drinking water, it also provides important fire flow data that is used by our fire department and insurance companies.

Specific areas where flushing will occur will be notified in advance by signs placed near roadway intersections. During this period, sediment may be stirred up or scoured from pipe walls causing discoloration in the water.
