4. The Village's Tree Dedication program offers residents the chance to dedicate or plant a tree to honor a special occasion or remember a loved one. In collaboration with the Itasca Park District, individuals can dedicate an existing tree in the Village's Nature Center Arboretum, along the riverwalk, or in Park District parks.

   Annual tree dedications take place on the last Saturday in April, coinciding with the Arbor Day event in the Village's arboretum area. Each tree is marked with a plaque on a post, providing details about the tree species, the person or event being commemorated, and the individual dedicating the tree.

   Dedicating an existing tree in the Village's arboretum costs $300.00, which covers plaque and post installation on the south side of the tree. Alternatively, dedicating a new tree costs $600.00, which covers the plaque, post installation, and the planting of a new tree.
