2. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and subsequent interpretations by the U.S. Department of Justice require municipalities to have a written plan detailing how to make rights-of-way and public facilities accessible to people with disabilities.

   The Village of Itasca is currently working towards developing an ADA Transition Plan, which will be based upon data collected during our ADA self-assessment. An important part of performing an ADA self-assessment is engaging the public to assist in identifying barriers within the community.
